We are a small operation and as such have a limited number of breeding stock producing eggs and chicks. Birds may have their own agenda so eggs from all breeds may not be available at the same time. Please note any birds designated as “Project” are still a work in progress and may hatch the odd chick which may not conform to the parent stock.

HATCHING EGGS - I collect throughout the week and ship on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. I test for fertility before offering them for sale and insist on a minimum fertility of 85%. Extras are included whenever possible. I ship using foam shippers and the strongest boxes I could acquire. Due to the huge increase in shipping cost through Canada Post I have been experimenting with using the prepaid Canada Post boxes as the previous method is just too costly. I did a couple trial runs - one box to Vancouver and another to Ontario. I am still able to double box but the cost shipped anywhere in Canada remains at $25. Eggs shipped in my zone which includes Alberta, B.C. or Saskatchewan are guaranteed 3 day delivery same as express post. Elsewhere it is not guaranteed 3 days but a box I shipped to Ontario Monday before Christmas arrived on the Friday so I am encouraged that during the rest of the year they will arrive at least the same week. Cost difference is notable. With my double box to Ontario it would have been $100. I have had requests from some to ship the old method and I am happy to comply. Just let me know. I use the small bubble pockets to ship this way. There is an added $10 fee for shipping and handling. This extra cost is more than compensated for by the much lower shipping cost using this method. Shipping cost is customers responsibility. 96 hour heat packs are available for $5 each. Payment by EMT to be paid within 24 hours of eggs being shipped. As always no guarantees on hatching eggs as once they leave our hands there are just too many variables out of our control that can affect the hatch rate.

CHICKS - I can ship by West Jet or Air Canada Cargo. Chicks are shipped in plastic totes with ventilation and food. You are responsible to book and pay for flight unless carrier specifically requires booking by shipper. Price for crate and delivery to airport or depot is $50. A minimum order of 10 chicks is required and we do not ship chicks before April 15. I also like to grow them out for a week or two before shipping to give them the best chance at a safe trip.

Chicks or eggs can also be prearranged to be picked up at farm gate.
