COLUMBIAN LACED ORPINGTON PROJECT

The Columbian Laced Orpingtons started as a lucky mistake. While hatching some silver laced orps I hatched these strange looking predominantly yellow chicks. When I contacted the breeder he told me to cull them. Of course I didn’t but instead, out of curiosity, I let them mature and was I ever happy I did. They are so pretty and with all the same wonderful traits of the big English variety. It has been a challenge to reproduce the amount of lacing I prefer and I am still getting some with more, almost pure silver laced, along with some pure white. This is the challenge you face with a project and I will continue to work towards more consistency in this breed.
